Church Planting

The spread of the gospel is the ultimate mission of the Lahai Roi Foundation, so the cornerstone of the ministry consists of five churches in the areas of Montrious, Piatre, Duclos, and most recently Perrier and Odito.  Each church has its own pastor, deacons, and trustees, but all of these churches are overseen by Pastor Sidor and are a part of the Lahai Roi ministry.

By God’s grace, the churches have seen significant growth and fruit.  Each church is truly a part of the fabric of the community.  The leadership and members of these churches display the gospel in action for all to see through their commitment to evangelize the lost, disciple new believers, and care for the most vulnerable members of the community including the orphan, widow, and elderly.  With the help of Pastor Sidor’s brother, the churches in Piatre and Duclos were founded in 1991 and 1992 respectively.

Both of these congregations have maintained a stable presence in these communities for over 20 years,, and countless people have been led to Christ.  Pastor Sidor founded the church in Montrious after returning to Haiti in 2011.  It was started with less than 10 members, but by God’s grace, the church has grown tremendously and now has approximately 300 people on any given Sunday morning, including over 120 children.  God has truly blessed these churches, which continue to serve as a beacon of light and hope in the midst of poverty and despair.

The ministry has recently planted two additional churches in difficult-to-reach areas that are in desperate need of the Gospel. The two new churches are located in the mountainous villages of Perrier and Odito. The first official worship service in Odito was Sunday, March 5, 2017. The first worship service in Perrier was March 19, 2017.

The goal of the ministry is to plant more churches in the area which can serve as a means to further spread the good news of Christ and better care for the surrounding community.
